Support to the Museum of Salas de los Infantes and the investigation

The Foundation for the Study of  Dinosaurs in Castilla y  Leon has noticeable, like one of its main objectives, to extend the explanatory supply of the Museum of dinosaurs in Sals de los Infantes with elements that reinforce the divulging character, of leisure and use for investigators.

Also to take care of the maintenance and update of the collections and exhibitions of the Museum. With this aim, the Foundation has financed different acquisitions for the Museum:


1. A spectacular one talks back of an ALLOSAURUS FRAGILIS skull of 90 centimeters in length, so that the visitor can appreciate the retail anatomical characteristics of this animal, and its use on the part of the investigators to compare fossilized bones of other deposits.

2. Diverse didactic material: new elements have been acquired to make the visit to the museum more attractive, like a television set of big format and a reproducer of video and DVD, with which documentary scientists related to paleontology and dinosaurs are project, between which are some of own production, as well as a computer with interactive programs in which is included some of scientific content and games.

3. Temperature and Humidity sensors for the Museum air conditioning: for the conservation of the exposed objects and stored in the Museum, it is necessary to have equipment that allow its control and measurement (a correct air conditioning). For that reason the Foundation has acquired sensors of relative humidity and temperature. Thus, the Foundation assumes the conservation function to guarantee to the present and future societies the benefit and knowledge of these goods.

4. Retorts of pieces of a Baryonix and Espinosáurido, found in different deposits from the zone of Salas de los Infantes: the Tenadas de los Vallejos II deposit and the deposit El Juguete.
